 Seems you and I have some things in common..My first marriage was to an
 alcoholic who beat me..I stayed married for about the same amount of 
 time..but when he started to abuse our son..I got out quick...My mother
 was the alcoholic in my family..
 
 
 CY> At least 3 times Alanons have loved me back to health.
 CY> I get occassional hurt since there's not that one special MAN in my
 CY> life today. I miss Phil. But I have his 4 kids and our 3 1/2 grandkids
 CY> And I have alanon and other friends. But it's lonely at night going to
 CY> bed alone and too quiet 10pm-midnight
 My second husband and I were married for around 18 years till he decided
 he wanted someone a bit younger.....so he divorced me and married
 her...he and I had 7 children together..Yes, it hurt...but I was able to
 bounce back..I started to attend AA meetings and Al-anon meeting after
 this time with a friend..He was in the AA program and introduced me to my
 third husband several years later...
 My third husband was a memeber of AA when I met and married him..He had
 4 grown daughters..He and I were married for almost 6 years when he died..
 I do understand the lonely times you are talking about..it is too quiet
 at night...Al-anon and AA has helped me by just being there..I have made
 many friends in these rooms...I do not have a drinking problem but I do
 enjoy going to meetings...(open ones, of course)..
