Winchester's new .22lr PowerPoint ammo looks extremely promising.  It has 
a large hollow cavity, as opposed to a tiny hollow point on the nose of 
the 40gr bullet.  Velocity is better out of a 4" revolver and a 20" 
carbine than their standard super-x 40gr or 37gr.
The stingers by the way, will still be faster even out of the 2.75"
barrel.  More muzzle blast from the additional powder they contain, but 
they are without a doubt just about the hottest .22ammo you can get.
I clocked 1250fps averag out of a 4" revolver barrel, hundreds of fps 
faster than any other 'hyper velocity' .22.  In fact, that's about as 
fast as any other hyper-velocity .22 came out of a 20" carbine barrel.
Stingers haul, plain and simple.  Powerpoints combine good mass, velocity 
(for the weight), and excellent expansion.
