    The following home astronomy activities in the NYSkies territory,
mainly the commuting ring enclosing New York City, are operated by
various organizations. A couple cultural items of special importance
to City astronomers may be included.

are subject to change by their sponsors. Check with the contact. For

Risk of hostility and abuse at AAA events
 ---------------------------------------
    In August 2005 Richard Rosenberg and Bruce Kamiat, Board
seatholders at Amateur Astronomers Association Inc, put out threats of
abuse and hostility against certain people at AAA events. These threat
were made thru the NYSkies discussion forum. Details are in the
separate article 'AAA News', formerly 'City news' in NYC Events.
    There is reasonable risk of abusive or hostile behavior to
visitors at AAA events if Rosenberg or Kamiat, or other AAA officials,
partake in the event.
    AAA events under this risk are marked in the index with a '*' and
with a note in the main listing.
