BL> It's Paul who strangles pigeons. I like birds. RG> With or without feathers? Female human beings are okay, but they're not as smart as the real thing. I find birds amazing. They have these tiny brains and they *learn* so quickly. It's 3 years since I tempted the first Rainbow Lorikeets down to be fed, and that source of food has been passed on from generation to generation. We get a new lot every year, and they do exactly the same thing as their parents did. The sparrows also. They breed, and bring the young around to Lawrence's where they are fed and then move on... bringing *their* young back. It's a nursery. They all fly into the glass window... but only once. These are not simple things to learn. I've got a Currawong who only returns once a year when she is breeding - for the extra food she needs. Old Ugly comes every year, and stands where she always does until someone notices her. "Hello Ugly!" we say, and she comes closer to be fed. That memory is stored in her tiny bird-brain.
