I believe there were relationships at various times between Studebaker,
Nash, Hudson, Packard, and AMC. As you say, the Avanti was also a Stude
until the company ceased operations in 1966, later Avanti moved to CA and
became its own company, continuing use of the Chevy V8's. I believe they
were still alive in the 80s, and by then had used 327's, 305's, and 350's.
