Wet test boosts McLaren hopes

(7-Oct-98) - McLaren's fears that Ferrari and Schumacher could have an
advantage if it rains in Suzuka were tempered by a wet test last week.

Hakkinen tested eight types of Bridgestone wets at Magny-Cours and the
Japanese company now believe they have the advantage over Ferrari's
Goodyears in certain conditions.

The choice of tyres will now be narrowed down at a test in Barcelona next week.

David Coulthard was at Barcelona last week working on dry tyre developments.
