subject: voice over mike

I'm planning on doing a lot of narration tracks for a documentary, and I
ould
like a few opinions on which mike I might want to try. Here are the mikes I
have to work with:
****************
Shure Beta 58
Sennheiser MD421
AKG C1000S
AKG C391B "Blue Line"
I've tried the MD421, but I didn't like the sound it gave me. I played
with its bass rolloff switch, and still couldn't get a decent tone. I'm
thinking that I'll stick with the C391B's. Would you recommend using the
5Hz
bass rolloff switch for a female voice? male voice? both?
I'll be tracking with my 24-track ADAT system (in case the digital format
would affect your opinion).
Also, I'm probably going to pick up a pop-filter. I've never really used one
very much. How effective is it? Does it eliminate all pops? or just
uppress
some of them?
