Larry,
I'm glad you spoke up. In a smaller town like mine, it probably isn't
so bad. But if the schedule was actually hurting the quality of care then I
can't say anything. In fact, I am forced to agree.
When I heard the story, it was from a Paramedic from an out-lying
county who liked the schedule he was on. I think I would, too. But their call
volume wasn't like Nashville, either.
I've said before, I work 11 hour days and I think the 24-48 would
allow me more quality time with my family and give me greater flexibility
with other work or school. I wouldn't refuse a job if the hours weren't
perfect, either. I might find out I hate it.
