Just to clear up something I miswrote.
It was terpin hydrate I took as a kid that contained both alcohol
and codeine.

Pharmacists no longer stock it but can make it up on
special order.
Horrible tasting crud.

I suspect it's comparable to the old western medicinal laudnum.
