RW> Did you ever get to see his blue suede shoe brush? I honestly don't remember. The guy could have been barefoot for all I know. RW> Ha! I felt lucky if I had a steel penny. And we thought those things were made of lead. (-: RW> Hmmmm. I wonder what ever happened to my steel helmet. I have a photo of RW> me and my brother playing 'Army' circa 1944 or 45...I had a WW1 steel RW> helmet laying next to me. We're both holding about 4 pups... When I was about 10, I had a "sailor suit and cap" and was dressed that way during Mardi Gras that year. Standing on Canal St near the Lowe's State Theater, two adult gals tried to pick me up. WOW! RW> I really enjoyed the stories he told about that. It made me feel like I RW> had been there. My podiatrist served with Gen George S. Patton in Europe. I wish I could remember just one of the stories I was told about the general. They were mixtures of funny, hilarious and gut-wrenching and according to the doc, most of the things you heard about Patton were true. If Ike hadn't interfered because of the political climate, the war may have been over sooner. RW> My dad's job (mom, myself and my brother too) kept him out of the draft RW> until early in 1945. He was on board a troop ship on his way to Europe RW> when the Germans surrendered. He was gone 13 months and then came back RW> home. We all missed him a lot. My late brother was in the Navy (redundant mode on, 'cause I think I already wrote this before) and halfway across the Pacific when the Japs surrendered. He wanted to see some action. Scuttlebutt should have alerted him to what the Japs were doing a few months earlier and I told him via letter he should be glad he missed the action. RW> I may be able to draw one from memory...nahhhh. Just take a white one and color it silver. Regards, Roger ... She's the bargain hunter. I just carry the ammunition. --- D'Bridge 3.31* Origin: NCS BBS (1:3828/7) SEEN-BY: 10/1 3 11/201 331 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/0 187 140/1 222/2 226/0 SEEN-BY: 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 266/1413 280/1027 SEEN-BY: 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 801/161 189 2222/700 2320/100 105 SEEN-BY: 5030/1256 @PATH: 3828/7 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
