But, doesn't Nietzsche also "beat against the wall of being" and yell, "if
there IS a God, how could I afford not to BE God?" I think Nietzsche's
"masks" are different from those Campbell legitimately finds in the myths.
Nietzsche is consciously dancing with different philosophical masks, isn't

He is not yet the Sartre who is "condemned to be free" but he does DEMAND a
position like a god outside of and on top of reality where HE can encompass

or he will take his marbles and go home. This does not deny his genius and
sensitivity as a psychologist (Freud probably learned from him) or the
shrewdness of his eye for the ancient culture.
