-> The room fell silent as Joe Lamastra whispered to Dave Brown...
JL> Thanks Dave; Yes you will always have my eternal gratude.
JL> Latly I seem to be working on the motor more than I get to enjoy the
JL> the slap of the water on her hull. The manuals will be a great help. I
JL> thought I found another Penn Yan like mine here on the Island but it
JL> turned out to be a diffrent model.
Remember, these are just the parts manuals I'm sending. If you have service
questions, just drop me a note.
JL> Is the boat they dropped off a Penn Yan also if so I'd be
JL> intersted in knowing what kind of shape she was in.
It was in an OMC boat as well. In fact, this boat had been fully restored to
showroom condition (a 1963 model). It was fully loaded from the factory with
car-like dash and a power lift to raise the windshield for the full wind
feeling. The hull looked years ahead of it's time with two sponsons to
ride on at plane. It sat in its original restored trailer as well. It also
had one more option for those of you folks who argue about who was first -
- it had an oil injection system!!!. For those who may have forgotten, this
was OMC's first stern drive and was a two-stroke engine turned on it's front
and attached to a stern-drive leg. Pretty high tech considering the time
period. :-)
JL> Thank you again
My pleasure. E-mail me when you get it.
Regards,
Dave Brown
