hanks Bob -- it goes on the list.
And it really hit home. My best selling print is one I HATE to print. It
has a seven step burn/dodge process to go with it, and about one out of
every three prints actually comes out good enough to exhibit or put on the
market. I', really sick of making this image. I scanned the negative in and
made a digital print, but my best effort cannot come close in depth or
feeling to the darkroom print. From a distance and behind a frame, and
viewed in low light, the digital print looks OK, but the bottom line is, it
sucks.
I tried making a 4x5 copy negative, but it looked a generation down. Sucked.

So you saying that basically, an advantage of digital photography is that
it liberates the photographer from the darkroom? What if the photographer
doesn't feel imprisoned?
He's taking too much Valium. :)
This will come up again tomorrow (Wed) in the classroom. Can you think of
any items that can be listed out that are an advantage or disadvantage of
the two technologies?
Once you have what you want, in digital...it's saved and can be repeated
with much ease. Multiples in the darkroom are work.
