That's expressed by indicating your pawn on e (e6 actually) captures my
d5 pawn, or "exd5"; my response is to capture your (now) d5 pawn with my
e (e4 actually) pawn, or "exd5", continuing the pressure on your
Queen's Knight on c6 (Nc6). The game so far looks like this:
(W) (B)
Jim Jason
----- -----
1. e4 Nc6
2. d4 Nf6
3. Nc3 e6
4. d5 exd5
5. exd5
Are you starting to see the board organization better now?
