Hi Bettie!
-=> Quoting Bettie West to Wendy Buchanan <=-
BW> N Nice to hear from you Wendy..I've been busy gathering stuff to
BW> do some serious card making this fall and winter. I hope to make my own
BW> Xmas cards this year. and probably my daughters also. If I get good
BW> enough at it..My friend and I share ideas and supplies. after we figure
That's more fun to share things with a friend. There's a rubber
stamping store in town now and I enjoy just going in there to pick
her brain now and then. Plus all the stamping gals on here share
such neat info! I want to make a lot of cards, too. The embossing
powders from Julia's latest co-op have arrived and they are just so
lovely! I'm having a great time playing with them.
BW> out what it is were doing we may want more of something, but for now,
BW> sharing seems the best..We always dive into things. cant just puddle in
BW> the surf ya know..but we're taking some classes so we won't be entirely
 BW> stupid about it..we've wasted a lot of paper trying....but it's all
Oh, I know you and Gladys (you are talking about her aren't you?) are
not stupid at all, and you'd be surprised how inventive you get after
a while! I've made some foldover notes to send to friends when I do
not have time to write a long letter, but want them to know I've
been thinking of them. I made my own stamped stickers to go with
those. I also got some 20-cent postal cards from the p.o. and have
stamped a small design on those, and sent them to my hubby's sis, who
keeps in touch with others in an organization she's in, with those.
She loved them! I made some hand-stamped gift bags out of lunch sacks
using macrame jute cord for the handles. I cut the bags off at the top
with my paper edger scissors so they looked pretty, and stamped some
of my larger stamp images on the front, then made a card to match. I
used those tags you can slip onto the cords. They look pretty good.
I get tissue paper in different colors and stamp those with the same
images, all over, to put into the bags. It looks so pretty! I'd
wanted the white lunch sacks but I don't seem to be able to find them
any more. I think with so many people using insulated lunch bags,
they quit making them. Maybe some day I'll find some and get a lot
of them!
I think those classes are a great way to get together with other
crafters and learn new stuff from them as well as the instructor.
You have fun going to those!
BW> what we've done.. Do keep in touch with us so we can share
BW> ideas..we'll need the moral support....our leaves are beginning to turn
BW> already and me thinks we may be in for a long winter. I am retired so I
BW> don't mind so much now. I can sit and watch it snow and know I don't
BW> have to get out and drive in it unless I WANT to....Do take care of
BW> yourself and write again soon, Bettie
That's the fun part of winter, and almost the only fun part for me
now. Well I didn't write soon but I did write. Hope I didn't
bore you with my meanderings!
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
