Hi Lily Lady!
-=> Quoting Jeannelou Truitt to Wendy Buchanan <=-
JT> the event at all. But if he likes them so much, why save them for
 JT> special occasions? /
The smoker takes a lot of time and charcoal. But I do them for
weekends a lot! Tom just loves them, reminds me of the cartoon
strip "Hagar the Horrible" the way he goes around with a smoked
turkey drumstick in his hand, chomping away on it. hehehe!
JT> They are about the cheapest meat around and if you bag cook them, you
JT> can get almost almost all the fat off so they are healthful too.
I usually put them in the smoker, that's his favorite. He got a
new smoker at the beginning of summer. The older one was all
but rusted through in several places (we bought it at a garage
sale, but got about 8 years' use out of it, so we got our $'s
worth out of it).
JT> Do you have daylilies or true lilies? I grow both but the DL are
JT> my feature flower. If you grow DL, moving them and avoiding abusers
JT> like that yard guy, are not needed. They are highly tollerent.
These were true lilies. I want daylilies. And Casey has now
learned to be more careful around the plants, so that won't be
a problem any more, but Tom sure got them with the lawn mower
the one time Casey couldn't come do the yard. MEN! If he was
not such a sweetie otherwise I'd clobber him...but he is, so I
put up with the little stuff. :)
JT> Today i finished [except for some erasing] one of the Award of Arms
JT> scrolls that i am making for the SCa. It has 6 small and 2 lrg
JT> bunches of violets, plus the gold work and the calligraphy. I do a
JT> 'master', on smooth paper and then have it photostated on textured '0'
JT> PH, paper. The thick textured paper is fairly expensive [i had to make
JT> a $60. order when i bought it] but it is quite lovely. I have it in 3
This sounds absolutely breathtaking! I'll bet that's a lot of work.
But they must be such a rewarding thing to do, knowing you are
blessing someone else with them.
JT> colors. Yesterday i got out the base pieces and the old bead
JT> seatcovers and started to work on my games again.
You have been busy! I suppose you are thinking about your fall
move again pretty soon, next month, eh? I'd hate to think of
having to do that twice a year but I know it's necessary in your
case.
JT> I hope you are feeling much better. Shalom, ll
Yes, I am. Thank you! And it's sure nice to hear from you, too.
I've been doing some quilling and rubber stamping on cards and
gift tags, bags to match and then stamping patterns on tissue
paper to put inside the bags. I want to make sets to sell, and
some greeting cards. There are lots of craft sales here in the
fall, and I think I can make some Christmas stuff that will sell.
Hope so. My craft supply budget is shot right now! But I've
been having such fun learning quilling. :)
LadyBear Hugs,
Wendy
