subject: Problem!

I'm posting this again since it seems my feed's feed wasn't properly
sending out any mail for the last week or two. :(

Nonetheless, I am still looking for advice on this problem.

 Thanks!

 Hello All!

Something strange just happened: I got an inbound mail packet,
Sq386 began tossing it, then linked... and *each* area that it
tossed too LOST all the mail it used to have in it.

In other words, one area that HAD 2000 messages now has 28 messages.

 :(

I think I lost around 4000 messages in total... haven't recovered from
my shock enough to do the body count.

Can anyone tell me WHAT THE HECK caused this? And no, I didn't go delete
my mail by accident. According to Norton Utilities' unerase, there are
also no deleted files in my mail directory.

In a moment of streamlining, I *did* make the following changes to
 Squish.CFG last night:

Changed Buffer size from Large to Small

Changed my bat files so Sq386 runs alone, then Squash runs alone, then
Link runs alone. The PRN file indicated this would be good for a low
memory situation -I am not low on memory, unless I run Sq386 under WFWG
3.11, and I try to avoid doing that.

 Changed my Config.SYS Files= statments from 50 to 75

Squish was working fine until this last batch of mail came in -the second
load of inbound mail since I made the above changes. The first batch
went normally... and the computer has been sitting idle since then.

It would be really great if anyone can tell me what went wrong. The idea
of losing my older mail each time new mail comes in is NOT pleasant.

 My system stats:

 Cyrix 486dlc-33 with 80387 math co-processor
 8 megs ram
plenty of HD space (about 100 megs free on the drive in question)
 Dos 6.22

 Thanks in advance!
