Nissan denies F1 plans

(28-Oct-98) - Nissan has denied claims it has plans to enter Formula 1.

An F1 source said that in the wake of Honda and Toyota's decisions to enter
the Sport, the Japanese car manufacturer is 'interested' in the idea of
supplying engines.

But a Nissan spokesman said: "There is no truth in that at all. We're
not looking at it."

"The financial situation in Japan is such that running an F1 programme
is not feasible. We're concentrating on rallying, touring cars and Le
Mans."
