I was up in Quebec City earlier this year and was shocked to hear from
the salesman that the cellular frequencies are blocked on the scanners
they sell up in Canada too!  If that is the case, I would just go to one
of the other dealers that sell non-Radio Shack scanners and get a
non-crippled radio.  Why get a radio that is crippled?
