Or the electrocution hazard when you touched the chassis through an air
vent.  But today nearly nothing has a metal case or openings you can
poke much through.  Even then we have lots of GFCI to protect folks.

What do the grounds connect to exactly?  Heck even toasters with metal
covers have enough insulation internally to not have ground plugs.  I
guess you should ground the fork before trying to pry the toast out?
