All I'm saying is that what your time and effort is worth depends on
who is looking at it. If a business is trying to squeeze every dime it can
get to boost its profit, your time is suddenly worth less. But that works
both ways. How much do professional athletes get paid for thier efforts? They
work hard but can you think of a harder job that pays less? How much is your
time worth to you is and important question to ask. But is there an objective
entity or organization that can put a price on your sweat and blood? The
point is that I've seen it go too far both ways. Unions are one of the tools
used to, in some cases, push the envelope for the worker.
Don't get the wrong idea. I am definitely on the lower end of skilled
labor, and way down on the food chain. I work too long for too little. But by
nature I feel both sides should come to an honorable, fair agreement.
