How do you send email and browse the web without an operating system? And
these are not even the only major uses of PCs among the general public.
Others are:

- Storing and printing pictures and video from their digital cameras and
camcorders

- Printing (inexpensive color printers seem to be pretty popular among
home users).

- Ripping and burning audio and video CDs and interfacing with iPods and
other portable music players.
