Jim I dont *want* the job, nor would i be the best candidate, but i would 
agree to do the listing to keep the echo on the backbone if no one else has 
time or the knowhow to do so.
My bad points:
I'm Navy and go underway a goodly bit.  In FEB 98, I will expect to deploy 
for 6 months.  (I have a friend who will gladly keep up the elist for me and 
would be listed I suppose as 'Co-moderator' just for that reason, but Perry 
Lowell does not currently post in this echo).
I dont know that much about fish, and some of what I do know, is probably 
wrong.  You've seen my posts.  Judge the situation yourself.  Folks *could* 
be confused if they needed to correct me, and I was the 'moderator' and they 
felt unsure enough about that to let the information slide.  (IE:  the onus 
would be on me to be 'perfect' as I could be and let others know that 
correction is the 'right thing to do')
My good points:
Due to the drift of fidonet, and the vagaries of my time in it, I either 
moderate or co-moderate several conferences bith backbone and non-backbone.
(Ones that may be known are in no particuar order but:  FEMALE_SYSOP, 
RECIPES, HANDISEX, GENDER, and a few others not well known).  Oh handisex 
isnt what it sounds like from the title.
I've been a sysop since 1986.  Have never been a fido official, but in the 
heyday of ADAnet (disability network) I was what would be the same as a 
ZC/ZEC handling the needs of over 500 BBSes for the USA and Canada.  I know 
all the technical ends needed for the job.
I like short rule lists that are too the point and believe direct netmail is 
the best way to deal with the occasional 'oops' post.
My nominal points:
I believe PGP is a great thing, but not in an echo.  Several international 
sites are not allowed to use it at all, and concievably could get in trouble 
if they are used in an echo they draw.  (Italy, 1995 had such a law which is 
part of why you see so few Italian sites in the fidonet arena if you didnt 
already know that little gem of international law).
