It may be apropos to point out here that Policy dictates English as the
official language of Fidonet:
"1.0 Language
The official language of FidoNet is English. All documents
must exist in English. Translation into other languages is encouraged".

This may be true in the US (though being the second largest Spanish-speaking
country in the world, maybe no) and perhaps the UK, but India, for example, has
125 million English speakers, many of whom are fluent in other
languages, while Canada has a sizeable English/French bilingual population.
