Yes, but there are times of apprehension when a hurricane or tropical storm
makes landfall nearby.  Where I am, there isn't too much to worry about
with respect to flooding, but the wind damage and tornadoes spawned by
hurricanes and tropical storms can cause massive damage, especially when
your dwelling is surrounded by pine trees over 300 centimeters in height. 
About 2 months ago, a tree limb from one of my trees was broken off by a
weather system that passed through here rather quickly and that limb
penetrated the roof and ceiling of the spare bathroom.  I'm glad I wasn't
in there at the time.  What a mess!
