I saw an interesting segment on the Saturday March 1st episode of
Computer Connection on CNN.
It said that the IRS testified at the "National Commission on
Restructuring the IRS" that it is GOING TO COST $129,000,000
to reprogram its computers to recognize the year 2000. They said that a
fix to the year 2000 problem is the highest priority of the tax
collecting agency.
I emphasized "GOING TO COST" because the story sounded like that they
haven't taken steps yet to solve the year 2000 problem, even though it's
less than three years away.
