Irvine's œ1million bonus

(29-Oct-98) - Eddie Irvine has been offered a œ1million bonus if he helps
Michael Schumacher win Sunday's Japanese Grand Prix and finishes second
himself, according to British newspaper 'The Sun'.

The team is keen to ensure that Irvine, who is considered an expert at the
Suzuka circuit, helps Michael Schumacher take the Ferrari's first drivers'
title since Jody Scheckter took the 1979 championship.

Despite the money said to be on offer, Irvine has made it clear in a number
of statements, that he will fight fair.

"I know what is required and I will be giving it everything to achieve
the desired result - within the rules."
