Oh dear!  No, you can use a 29 gallon tank for far more.  Don was just saying 
if you have cichilids, not to mix other types with them in a starter tank.
Guppies and goldfish will do very well inthe size tank you have and thats 
just a few types that will work.
Do NOT however get COI or the 'bigger goldfish' for that size tank.
Meantime, I am looking with total amazement at the accidentally Coi type 
goldfish I got, take over my 80 gallon tank.
Grin, anyone in Norfolk area who knows what to do with a *big* goldfish ready 
for the pond, has a person who will give him/her free to a good home! 
Estimated 6.5 inches long and growing rapidly.  General looking 'goldfish' 
build.  Seems friendly with the smaller regular folks in the tank.
Oh, have 2 'bottom scroungers' same size now.
