Hello,
After you are certified as an EMT, you have to wait at least a year before 
you can take Paramedic class.  It's so you get some training and knowledge 
before you can be a medic.  Also when you first become an EMT you will go 
into a probationary period for so long.  It depends on where you live.  After 
you pass the period you will become an EMT senior tech and you can work on 
the patient by yourself.  After that year is done, go for you EMT-P!!  Have
