Just recently, and I think this happened in Jefferson parish, which is
adjacent to Orleans parish, the local gov't there offered Fifty dollars
(that's right $50.00!) for any gun the citizens would turn in.  They ran
out of money in a short time, which caused me to wonder what idiot would
sell a $500.00 gun to the local gov't for 10% of its value?  Unless it was
stolen...
 
If anyone who reads this does not own a gun or know of their prices, it's
easy enough to look up on the Internet.

We can carry them here without a license, as long as they aren't concealed.
For concealed carry, you need a license from the state and a certified
firearms certificate from a state approved instructor who gives you an oral
exam and firearms proficiency test the next day.  Any shot you make outside
of the target ring is a failing grade.  I was outshot by a nurse, who
couldn't have been more that 5' tall using a Walther PPK and I was shooting
a Glock 9M. I couldn't believe it!  (-:  You also need to read the LARGE
form the state sends you in a packet, which contains the do's and don'ts
(lots of law therein) and qualify yearly, plus pay the annual fee.

I got the urge to watch him lately and he still doesn't look straight
ahead. Even in his recent address a week or so ago he didn't.  What's up
with that? Is there no one directly ahead of him?
