RW> I'll take your word for it. Doing a Google search for Parnell, I find RW> several references to him, but when you enter the site, his name changes RW> to Pernell. :o) Many years ago, when I watched "Bonanza", I noticed his name in the credits and always thought that was an odd name. It's origin could be anything, but I dug up the following: ===CUT=== The boy's name Pernell \p(e)-rne-ll, per-nell\ is pronounced per-NEL. It is of Latin origin, and its meaning is "country bumpkin". Also possibly related Peter via the Greek "petros", meaning "stone". Made familiar in the 1960s by actor Pernell Roberts. See also Parnell. ===CUT=== Last time I saw him in a movie was the western/comedy The Sheepman, with Glenn Ford and Shirley MacLaine, who is slightly older than me. (-: Regards, Roger ... I never liked crayons much. They just don't have any flavor at all. --- D'Bridge 3.54* Origin: NCS BBS (1:3828/7) SEEN-BY: 10/1 11/200 201 331 14/400 34/999 120/228 123/500 128/0 2 187 140/1 SEEN-BY: 222/2 226/0 236/150 249/303 250/306 261/20 38 100 1381 1404 1406 1418 SEEN-BY: 266/1413 280/1027 320/119 396/45 633/260 267 712/848 801/161 189 SEEN-BY: 2222/700 2320/100 105 5030/1256 @PATH: 3828/7 140/1 261/38 633/260 267 |
