If I understand the way things work, Opus, written before most multi-taskers,
is constantly checking things, like the serial port to see if a call has come
in, the outbound mail directory to see if it must send mail out, etc.
Windoze '95 does not give all the computer's resources over to Opus. It only
spares a portion of it's time for Opus. Opus is still checking, and when the
operating system is not ready, Opus waits before moving on to another task.
On the other hand, on a Pentium under DOS, Opus might not work properly
because things are now moving too fast.
