I'm not sure what he means by realistic but my
dictionary defines it this way:
realist (n) one who tries to see or portray things as
they are, not idealist.  realistic (adj)
IOW, there ain't a snowball's chance in Southeast Asia
in June of anyone one other then a democrat or
republican winning the Presidential election this
November.
Even if every gun owner in the US voted for the same
3rd party candidate he wouldn't come close.  And we all
know this won't happen because; 1) you ain't going to
get 100% of any group to go vote.  2) you ain't going
to get 100% of any group vote for one candidate because
of one issue. 3) a large number of gun owners are like
my dad, "They ain't going to take my gun, they just
want to make it harder fore the criminals to get one."
Having said that you have to look at the election this
way.  Either you are voting to keep Clinton in office
or you are voting to elect Dole.  There are no other
true choices.  If you vote for and support someone
other then Dole and Clinton wins then you effectively
voted FOR Clinton.  Think about who is on Bill's side;
the Brady's, Finsten  and the rest.
I agree the choice is like being deciding if you want
to be shot in the stomach or in the brain.  Given the
those choices I will take the shot to the stomach and
hope I survive as opposed to a brain shot which WILL be
fatal.
