I'm Quoting Joe Sieglers post to Steve Palm:

JS> You are wrong. Multiplayer games such as this have had this

JS> You won't. Period. It is an across the board issue. It's not

JS> The accusation is highly insulting. Make sure you understand the

Ok Joe, My intention was not to insult. But I was bothered by the fact that
your selling the version upgrade instead of making it a whole new game.
I understand about why it's not compatible, and I am not wrong. When there
was a patch to upgrade Doom v1.666 to 1.9, It was FREE! So upgrading every
player was no problem. Someone... not necessarily you, or the other game
ev-
elopers, has decided that the version upgrade needed to be sold. Probably
because there was so much added. My point is, call that Duke 4 and quit pre-
tending it's the same game just because it can load the levels of 1.3d
I feel screwed! I MUST PURCHASE the new version or I get cut out of the loop
of multiplayer games and map sharing. Good thing most folks had the sense to
put a copy of both on their system so that Obligatory Purchase Scheme could
e
avoided.

... A good scapegoat is nearly as welcome as a solution to the problem.
