subject: Locking Windows

RG> As I've said b4, I don't trust MS either, which is why I don't

I prefer to find out what the flaw was, and fix it myself. I never
upgrade.

RG> Get real Bob.

RG> Do you SERIOUSLY beleive the DD and ourselves are the only
RG> people in the world to have been online 24/7 for many years and
RG> remained virus free? The fact of the matter is that there are
RG> MILLIONS of people just like us, but you won't hear about it on
RG> the daily news because it simply isn't newsworthy.

You can say the same for murder, or rape. I haven't even been
assaulted, but that doesn't make it safe to walk in Hyde Park at
midnight. I don't think you understand that of the millions of PC
users, hardly any of them are on the net for more than a few minutes a
day. The only ones online all day are sysadministrators.

RG> When was the last time you saw a headline that read something
RG> like "2 billion people didn't get hit by a car today" - Yet it
RG> isn't uncommon to read a daily report that SOMEONE DID get hit
RG> by a car?

Two billion don't get hit by a car, so doesthat make it okay to run
across the road blindfold? And you ask me to get real!

RG> News reports of virus infections are no different.

 Durr...

As I said in another message. The difference between a tech and an
engineer is that you fix what goes wrong, and I prevent it happening.
If you don't see it happen, then it doesn't exist. If an engineer
doesn't see it happen, he can sit down and calculate the chance of it
happening.

Regards,
Bob
