Ah!  The penny drops.  Hmm, I spent quite a while trying to debug that, too!  :-)

OK, I've since changed the carbonarea to a LocalArea and all is well.

fconf2squish puts LocalAreas after EchoAreas in squish.cfg though, but I
can write a shell script using grep to fix that.
