You are wrong.  Multiplayer games such as this have had this limitation since
they've been invented.  Try playing Doom v1.666 vs 1.9 and see what happens.
Try playing Rise of the Triad v1.2 against v1.3, and see if you work.  Try
playing Heretic v1.0 against v1.1 and see if you play happily.
You won't.  Period.  It is an across the board issue.  It's not engineered by
anyone to increase sales.  If you know anything about how these things are
written, you'd know why.
The accusation is highly insulting.   Make sure you understand the facts

before spouting off, eh?
