Sure it'll give me a(nother) means of playing the MP's, but the idea of having them in a shared folder accessable by all of our machines is (also) so that if more MP's are d/loaded they can be placed *directly* into this same folder regardless of which machine is being used to d/load them. These other 'solutions' (FTP & HTTP) don't give the same usability. Sure we could d/load them to the local machine, then FTP 'em across to the shared folder, but that is just doubling up on the movement of the files. SMB really is the most convenient method I've found, and when it works (which is MOST of the time) it works well. Even so, I still wouldn't in any way call it 'fabulous' (as Bob was apparently told). NFS shares are MUCH more reliable/stable.
