| subject: | my printer seems to like to stall |
Hi August -> -> [1] Boost the RAM memory in your computer. Modern inkjets rely heavily on the -> main computer's resources. The strange thing is that the printer has only recently started to act this way. It stalls and the power light flashes. When I look that up in my manual, it simply says, "if the power light flashes, the print carriage had stalled." Duh.... It doesn't say why or what to do about it. Anyway, I got new RAM added last night (before even reading this message). -> -> [2] Don't have any other applications open (email, browser, etc..) except the -> photo printing program. Heck, I've even turned off the screen saver in case that kicking in had anything to do with it. I was getting tired of wasting good photo paper. I threatened to switch printers with the hubby, since he only prints the odd piece of text anyway. Maybe that's why he stuck extra RAM in my machine last night while I was out. I might not be able to keep it though as the machine seems to run slower now. He said that happens sometimes. I'll give it a few days to be sure before I let him take it back out though. And I'll print some pictures now to see if the extra RAM keeps the printer from stalling. Thanks for your input.
