Hi Les - I had Polio in 1945 at the age of 4 1/2. I wasn't affected quite
as severely as you, though. I never was in an iron lung, however I'm told
that the doctors expected me to need it and one was placed right outside my
door. I have total paralysis of both legs and ambulate with the use of full
length leg braces and crutches.
I've never been officially diagnosed with PPS, but have most of the
ymptoms.
I've also had 3 heart attacks and have been diagnosed with congestive heart
failure, so the two sometimes get mixed.
Unlike you, I was too dumb to think that age would affect me and was shocked
when things started happening. I have less and less strength and mobility
with each passing month and now rely a lot on a wheelchair.
I forgot to note the date of your message, so this may be a little late
getting to you. I was without a mail feed all last week and am just now
getting caught up. Keep your chin up!
Hugs...Bob
