I think that they just needed an "Evinrude" / "Johnson" style product
line.  With Evy's being the appearant cheaper model out of the Johnson
plant, it gave people an opportunity to buy something a little cheaper
and keep the Johnson manufacturing tag.  I believe this is Merc's
intention with Force.  Don't be confused...I won't be caught driving a
Johnson product...Just personal preference..I'm a Merc man all the way!
