subject: Bloody Windows!

Hi all,
I bought a new printer, a Canon all-in-one on special at Kmart
($158, I dunno how they do it for the price), abd the dweebs at Canon
really think it's terrific because they've taken over Windows!

Not only do they have two TSRs running and launch an incredibly-ugly
toolbox with quadruple-sized icons on my desktop, but they put
another icon on the quick-launch toolbar, yet *another* icon on the
desktop, and... I'm not kidding... *another* fucking icon called My
MultiPASS that I can't get rid of.

When I click it, it launches Windows Explorer in ICON view, showing
a directorty where scanned files go when they die. Of course, I *hate*
Windows Explorer in ICON view, having grown up in a TREE... but the
fuckign dweebs at Canon like icons so I can go fuck myself. It's only
MY computer, it's My MultiPASS that rules okay.

OKAY. I can get rid of the quick-launch icon in the desktop too
bar (and there's a sick Microsoft joke... it loads at exactly the same
speed), I can get rid of the ugly Canon toolbar (edit-out the \RUN
directory in the registry), I can even remove the "My MultiPASS"
folder on drive D:, but the "My MultiPASS" icon has been written into
Internet Explorer and the fucking thing keeps putting it back!

The queer part, is that the Mt MultiPASS icon is *on* the desktop,
but it isn't *in* the desktop folder!

Does anyone know how I can get rid of this fucking thing?

[later]

Aha! Success! And so die all enemies of the King!

It was the fucking Registry, using IE to run it. I edited the two IE
entries in the Registry and like magic... all gone. There was a whole
lot of other crap in there too.

Regards,
Bob
