Schumacher: 'Zanardi must learn'

(9-Oct-98) - Michael Schumacher has said he thinks Alex Zanardi will 'have
to learn' when he arrives in F1 next season. However, it will not be the
Italian's first visit to the F1 arena, he last raced in the series for
Lotus in 1994.

As could be expected, Schumacher appears to be waging a psychological war
already, pre-empting the hype that Zanardi will undoubtedly bring with him
after three highly successful seasons in the CART series.

"He shouldn't be in a hurry," said the Ferrari ace, "I don't
know if he will become great in Europe as well. There are some negative
examples such as Michael Andretti but also positive ones like Jacques
Villeneuve."

Whether Schumacher feels that Zanardi will threaten his reputation as the
top driver in F1 will only become apparent in Australia next March.
