Yup, and these are correctly set. (Just checked to be sure).

I mount mine with the "map network drives" option, then use a desktop
shortcut to the mapped drive. Due to various problems I had when first
setting up Samba (many years ago), and not having any knowledge in regards
to NT auth servers, I've never even considered doing what you've done.

Could be why you've not experienced this particular problem.

Wish it were. It can get quite annoying at times. As I've said though, with
the mapped drives, and the shortcuts, I can always access the shared drives,
even if they DON'T show up in Network neibourhood, so it only really ever
become a real issue if/when I add/remove drives, which causes the mappings
to fail (due to the way Windoze re-assigns drive letters), but this is a
rare occurance also.
