TF> anyone have any info on these or any other recommendations? Please

I purchased a Uwatec Aladdin Sport last summer, here's what I like
about it:
1. Moderate price, about $329
2. Very conservative tissue model. Uses a "slow" tissue compartment
of 120 minutes. This computer kept me closer to the time/depth
limits used on many popular tables, like the PADI RDP. My old
computer often let me make dives WAY in excess of table limits.
Of course, I realize the whole point of a dive computer is to
get more bottom time that a table allows. But, I sometimes
worry that most cases of DCS these days seem to be in divers
using computers. This is maybe a case of placing too much
reliance in a gadget, and not enough in common sense and sound
training in safe sport diving practices.
3. PC interface. With the (optional) PC interface cable and
software, you can upload 200 minutes of dive profile, plus the
max depth, minimum temperature, and elapsed time of the last
37 dives. You can also use the PC interface cable to switch
the dive computer between Feet and Meters for depth readings.
The dive profile is stored as a depth data point every 20 seconds
for the most recent 200 minutes of dive time, then you can graph
that out on the PC using the software supplied with the interface
cable. This software also tracks your Nitrogen tissue saturation
levels and shows at what points during the dive you were taking in
or offgassing excess nitrogen.
4. Completely automatic operation. You don't have to push a button
to start it, as in some types of dive computers.
If you can't afford this price level right now, I recommend you
wait for a while and save your pennies. The Uwatec computers
have a lot af features for their price range.
