It must have been a lot of money back then.  I was only 6 when he died and
didn't know the value of money.  That realization smacked me in the face as
soon as I was out on my own.  Also, I had a brother 7 years older than me
and a sister 5 years older.  My sister is still among the living in Miami,
but the point I'm trying to make is my mother never looked at another man. 
I'm sure she had many offers, but her children came first.  I think that
fidelity is lost on today's generation, although I am loath to write that
in such a general term.

Something I'm sure the men on my father's side would have done if not for
their obligation to their mother even AFTER they had families of their own.
