Subject: ersatz ND filters

I have lost the origin of the thread, but here's
my take on polarizers and other ways to
get a dark filter(not to be confused with a
dark slide). If you happen to have a pair of
circular polarizers, they can be used as a
variable ND filter if one of them is reversed

Thanks, Rich. Problem is lack of strobe control on digitals built for snap
shooters. They substitute very high electronic shutter speeds for constant
light sources to work properly with wide aperture settings but have only an
afterthought application for filling in the low light level shots and no
means of handling more powerful auxiliary lighting units.
