Dear Chris,
( Insidently, are you a girl type Chris, or a boy type Chris?)
Yes, i do sculpting in several meduims. Namely: ceramic clay [ both
terricotta and white], papier Mache', wax and [in the negative- to make
ceramic molds] plaster of Paris.
My favorite subjects are flowers, which i apply to low fire ceramic
pieces, or candles [respectively]. I use the papier mache' mostly for large
objects such as garden statuary. I was surprised, when i first started
studying papier mache', to find that there are several kinds; the strip
type, the mash type and the construction type.
What subjects do you favor? What do you use them for or are they strictly
'look at's'.
Have you ever heard of the paoli clay company in Bellview Wisc.? I
have been using their clay for years. They are reasonable in price, but
more important, their clay has the most wonderful 'hand' of any i have ever
tried.
