Help, please... I'm having some backward-compatibility problems with
the Atomic Edition of Duke Nukem 3D. I use BUILD to create a map that
doesn't contain any sprites, sounds, characters, etc, that don't exist in the
normal version. Unfortunately, another sysop tried it out with his original
version of Duke3D and it crashes. Using his version of BUILD, he can look at
the map in 2D mode, but when he switches over to 3D mode, again, it crashes.
Anyone know if this is a normal backward-compatibility problem and how to get
around it? I'd like to still make maps for older Duke players, but don't
want to have to keep BOTH versions on my hard drive! Note:
Forward-compatibility is no problem from the older version; original levels
and user maps made with the older BUILD are playable and modifiable with the
Atomic Edition.
Any help here would be great!
