 And of course, hackers always obey the rules, don't they? All
Windows does, is read the extension and the header. If they match, Win
goes ahead and does its stuff.

 Windows grows more and more likne Unix all the time, just as Pascal
and VB grow more like C++. Gates' master plan is to control the GUI
(not necessarily the O/S) so that he can update every three years,
kill or absorb any innovative software that might be independent, and
keep a constant cash flow. He can do that euqally well by writing his
own (better) version of Xwindows. Whatever else, M$ is master of the
GUI.

 Pity the O/S sucks...
